Abstract:		 In late 2008 Northamptonshire Archaeology undertook an evaluation at a site in Linslade which produced evidence of Late Iron Age, Roman and Saxon settlement as well as iron working. In 2010 the Leighton Buzzard and District Archaeological and Historical Society was given the opportunity to excavate in a garden adjoining this site. Although no evidence of early occupation was revealed, a significant amount of Victorian and Edwardian pottery was recovered. The investigation demonstrated the volume of material involved in manure spreading and the variable nature of the geology in the area. LD
