Abstract:
Discussion on the emergence of a native Romanesque style in early twelfth--century Ireland with an emphasis on architectural evidence from the area between Waterford and Cork. The lesser known monasteries at Coole and Kilmolash are particularly noted and the importance attached to Cormac mac Carthaig's chapel at Cashel is reconsidered.
