6" OS sheet 85. Found in a bog in 1966, this ?copper dagger has a wide, flat, round-pointed blade and characteristic frilled edges to the tang. There are two rivet holes at the shoulders and vestigial notches at the base of the tang. Allowing for some overlap in Harbison's phases, this weapon could show influence from the Killaha dagger. The general type probably arrived in Ireland via Wessex c 18th century BC. | ||||
