Abstract:
Two oval brooches of type Petersen R.647 variety D, now in Copenhagen and London respectively, together with a well-known gilt bronze triangular mount also in London, are re-published on the premise that they all come from one and the same grave-group in Phoenix Park, Dublin. The animal ornament on the mount is paralleled in the Lichfield Gospels and would date to first half of 8th century. Bøe's list of oval brooches in Ireland should be amended accordingly.
