Reviews new discoveries since 1970 and sets the material in a context of site-types and within the framework suggested by Lanting and van der Waals. Pace Stewart, there was a lasting impact of Beaker peoples in the area. The pottery developed in step with that of other focal areas and throughout shows links with England, the Netherlands, and especially Ireland.
