Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Presents a selection of compositional analyses of artefacts from northern Britain. Quantitative analyses were carried out using EDXRF on drilled or polished samples. Comparisons are made with results from the LBA and early RB periods, and with published results from IA sites in southern England. It is apparent that tin bronze was the principle copper alloy used in the IA and that the composition of this alloy is distinct from those used in LBA and RB periods, although some `blurring' of traditions is identified. A note on `Analytical techniques' is appended (413). | |||||
