TF 681349; 680348. The 1964 and 1968 finds of gold torcs are described and illustrated. The complete 1964 torc is formed of two rods twisted together, with loop terminals each having a tanged projection. The alloy was silver copper/gold, and the torc was only partly finished. The 1964 fragment was a simple loop terminal. The 1968 torc is also formed of two twisted bars with loop terminals, smoothed but not completely finished. The high silver content of the two complete torcs sets them apart from the rest of the Snettisham examples, but their date of concealment is probably similar, say mid- to late 1st century BC. | ||||
