The report covers 422 stone axes and other implements in local and other museums and private collections. There is a marked concentration of axes in the northern part of the area. Nearly half the number sectioned belong to Group VI, and another quarter are assignable to more or less well defined sources. Axes of Cornish origin are rare, and Midlands axes are less common than Welsh. |
