Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Discusses the landscape pattern made by the 2nd millennium bc land boundaries of S Dartmoor. The upper moorland was probably used as common grazing by six or seven major sociopolitical units, while the Hameldon Ridge was similarly shared. The reaves were boundary markers (the livestock being watched) rather than stock barriers. Contour reaves may be later. The pattern of territorial groups round an extensive resource is matched in the Fens and parts of Wessex. Au(abr) | ||
