Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A Group XVIII tool with the remains of its wooden haft, found in peat of the Cleethorpes submerged forest, has been dated by the accelerator method to approximately 1400 bc; however, it had apparently become incorporated in an earlier peat deposit. Previous work on dating and function of axe-hammers is reviewed, with a slight preference expressed for agricultural (ploughing) use. | ||
