Substantial quantities of organic material preserved in the ditch filling allowed reconstruction of the environment (wetland, grassland, and woodland) and of human activity in the area, which included cultivation. Other Lincolnshire Iron Age defended enclosures are considered in the analysis. Pollen analysis, plant macrofossils, full insect lists, pottery of first half of 1st century AD, two 14C dates. | ||||||||||
