Abstract:
Reports the discovery and excavation of surviving structures of Late Mesolithic date during work in advance of gas pipeline laying which produced at least one previously unknown site each kilometre. The Mesolithic structures consisted of four shallow ring ditches or slots in two pairs, with much flint and charcoal in association. A preliminary calibrated 14C date of 4800 bc has been obtained from the charcoal.
