The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Reports on excavation of the broch, part of an associated platform, and rubbish dumps on its seaward side (which included waterlogged deposits). Detailed study of the structure, composition, and magnetic susceptibility of the middens and infill deposits within the broch itself yielded information about patterns of activity. It is observed that the makeup of the refuse differs from that found at contemporary wheelhouse and roundhouse settlements, indicating a contrasting diet. A survey of the broch's hinterland suggested that there was a degree of continuity in settlement pattern from Pre-Roman Iron Age until the nineteenth-century clearances.
