Abstract: Excavations uncovered traces of an early medieval boundary, house and pits. The results accord with suggestions that the medieval frontage on the north side of Wood Street was to the north of its modern line. The first well-stratified pottery assemblage from Stratford, dating from about AD 1200 to AD 1550, is described by Stephanie Ratkai in `Medieval pottery' (62--73). Amongst other conclusions the study demonstrates that Malvernian wares continued to be imported into the area through the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. G Lloyd-Morgan provides notes on `Worked bone' (73) and `Copper alloy objects' (73). `Iron objects' are described by Ian Goodall (73) and Gerry McDonnell discusses `Iron slag' (73--4).
