The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An assemblage of lithics was recovered from deposits that appear to represent a scooped occupation. Analysis of the assemblage and a radiocarbon date range of 6355--6012 cal BC indicate that it belongs to the Mesolithic. This is the first Mesolithic material recovered by excavation in the Girvan area and the site provides additional evidence for a class of Mesolithic sites consisting of shallow scoops surrounded by turf or earthen banks.
