SM 913354. Visible features include a large standing stone, a large and a small ring bank, two ?prehistoric boundary banks; and five excavation seasons have merely increased the complexities. Phase 1 was a hut settlement with seven ?turf-walled structures, possibly shielings, with few and poor flint and stone tools. Microliths are probably residual. Phase 2 saw many activities; the standing stone was paired by the stump of another 24ft away, the space between being occupied by numbers of pits, some for paired timber posts, others for single uprights or organic deposits. Small stone rings, a cremation, and sherds including Collared Urn and Food Vessel were also found. Podsolisation of the soil began between Neo and EIA. Paired standing stones of Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire are listed. | |||||||||||||
