Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
(Continued from 88/336.) The need to reconcile the 14C dates with the stratigraphy suggested the sequence as: hearths of ultimate Meso date; enclosed homestead (the principal complex) of late 1st millennium bc; several centuries after abandonment, further (desultory) activities on a different focus. Only two of over twenty structures examined in the main complex have RB evidence, and some of the isolated structures could represent a 6th century ad occupation. Gwynedd has nearly 300 enclosed homesteads but only twelve have been explored; they appear indigenous pre-Roman sites, as do their associated ploughed terraces. | ||
