Abstract:
There are timber traces of 12th century, a substantial peasant house of late 13th/early 14th, a drying kiln, and three more houses, with abandonment coming in second half of 14th. Three houses incorporated a measure of one rod/pole/perch rather than the Welsh customary measure. Pottery runs 12th century to postmed, there are finds of metal, bone, and stone, and small samples of fauna including limpets and winkles. Historical evidence is recounted and the known med and 16th century habitation sites in Barry are listed.
