Abstract:
The earliest evidence of activity on the site came from a small assemblage of struck flint characteristic of Mesolithic/Early Neolithic, Neolithic/Early Bronze Age, and Middle Bronze Age to Iron Age industries. A small amount of residual Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age pottery was also found. The main phases of activity in the extended excavation areas dated from the Late Iron Age and Early Roman periods, and consisted of various ditches and gullies, as well as evidence of quarrying of clay, possibly for pottery or for construction.
