Describes a variety of timber structures (dating from the eighth to the thirteenth century) unearthed during gravel quarrying near the confluence of the rivers Trent and Derwent. The structures include a mill dam and wheel race; forty-four fishweirs, and two bridges. The bridges are discussed in the context of other finds from the Trent and elsewhere.
