Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Three brushwood trackways and a series of platforms were discovered in advance of development. The trackways are similar in construction to that at Beckton and are found above the lowest horizon characterised by Neolithic-EBA peat. Twenty-five metres to the west a watercourse with a flood/occupation/flood sequence was found. A platform of cut and dressed timbers was also seen, with a dressed trunk placed above four stacked timbers to form a revetment at the eastern edge. Pottery found in association with the later construction layer was dated to MBA-MIA indicating prolonged occupation sequence. Dating, wood signature, pollen and macro-fossil analyses to come. | |||||
