Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Report on material found in Dissolution and later deposits, with three fabric types present, one tin glazed and two lead glazed. The former has been provenanced to the Netherlands, creating a formerly unrecognized category of such material from this area. The lead glazed fragments are stylistically closer to products from the lower Rhineland. There are appendices on `Petrological examination of sixteenth century stove-tiles from St Mary Graces' (37-40) by Ian Freestone and a `Report on the analysis of nine early post-medieval stove-tile fragments from St Mary Graces' (40-44) plus a `Report on the analysis of the glazes on two stove-tiles from St Mary Graces' (45) by Michael Cowell.
