Abstract:
Following an introduction to the study area and the corpus of material to be considered, the article discusses the materiality of the ogham stones of the Dingle Peninsula and in particular of a specific type (Minard type) of ogham stone monument, in a bid to explore and highlight the meanings and significances such stones may have had in the past. The article also investigates the known source (Minard Beach) of this specific type of stone, evaluating the relationship between source and end point, while also discussing the various reasons and significances for the procurement of these stones at this particular source.
