Brief descriptions of the remains of five Cornish engine houses used in mines in the West Carbery district of Cork (Co). The historical background to each of the sites -- Ballycummisk, Cappagh, Coosheen, Crookhaven and Glandore -- is also supplied, but little documentary information could be found about a sixth engine house that functioned briefly in 1857 at Ballydehob, Cork (Co). | |||
