Abstract:
Survey of a timber-framed aisled hall house dating to the late-twelfth--early-thirteenth century. The remaining parts of the original timber framework are described in detail, plus the remains of an open hearth revealed beneath the modern floors of the former hall. Later phases of development and reorganisation are also described, including a stone cross-wing added to the south of the hall, probably during the later thirteenth century.
