A scheme of interventions was carried out at a development site within an area that has been located near the heart of the city of Canterbury since its beginnings in the late Iron Age and early Roman period. Although the depth of the archaeological excavations was limited, some observations were made of deeper service trenches; the scheme added a few new details to existing understanding of the site in the Roman period, and allowed some systematic sampling of the medieval and post-medieval archaeology.
