Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Evidence from cultural debris, including iron-making residues, the disposition of sea defences, the general elevation of the enclosed areas, and the differences of elevation measured across the seabanks to modern marshes, all indicate the reclamation of approximately 350 hectares of tidal wetlands during the later Roman period. There is also evidence for Late Saxon and medieval to early modern activity on the reclaimed wetlands. Au(adp) | |||||
