Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Noting the presence of Beaker pottery at Ireland's earliest metal-mining site (Ross Island, Co Clare), it is suggested that there is archaeological and mythological/literary evidence for an ancient association between metalworking and the consumption of alcohol. It is further suggested that drinking may have had a ritual significance. | ||
