Abstract:		 [SO 980361]. Summary of RAG excavations at Beckford (see abstract 74/2443) ahead of gravel quarrying, which have revealed further details of the Iron Age farmstead with stake-hole round houses (some with floor levels preserved), clay-lined water pits and multipurpose cobbled yards. Storage pits and querns were numerous, and finds include stamped, incised and plain Iron Age wares, beef and lamb joints (boiled and roasted), imported triangular crucibles for bronze-working from ingots, a hoard of spit-shaped currency bars and some burials. Traces of BA and RB activity were also seen.
