Important new evidence of early prehistoric Peak settlement comes from Lismore Fields outside Buxton: Mesolithic flint-knapping within a possible contemporary structure was followed by a rectangular posthole structure 5m x 15, with partitions and hearths, of Earlier Neolithic date. Part of another such structure was dug the following season, together with other structures. | ||||||||
