Assesses EH's guardianship property portfolio as if it was a museum collection, considering how appropriate the `collection' is in terms of the organisation's statutory role. The Commissioners' recently agreed criteria for assessing the quality of the `collection' are summarised. The practicalities of managing the `collection' are discussed, with examples illustrating the ways in which it can be tailored to complement holdings of other institutions, such as the National Trust, or to allow for the different needs of particular categories of property. |
