Abstract:
Reports how the introduction of digital photographic-based survey techniques is enabling the Photogrammetric Unit of English Heritage to gather crucial information for the successful conservation of wall paintings. The techniques are illustrated with reference to work on seventeenth-century paintings from the church of St Mary the Virgin, Bratton Clovelly (Devon), and the medieval farm house at Cullacott Farm (Cornwall), among others.
