Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
This article examines a hoard of silver coins spanning the period 1551-1643. The constitution of the hoard is discussed in detail, alongside the historical context of its burial during the Civil War. The hoard showed a good deal of diversity of coins over five reigns. The pottery vessel that contained the coins and a second associated vessel are also discussed; two possible places of manufacture are suggested. LD | |||||||||
