Discusses the restoration of a graveyard which was opened at Callaghy near Tuamgraney, Co Clare, for the interment of the poor during the Great Famine. The restoration work is being carried out with a view to conserving the native plant and animal life of the area along the principles of the Living Churchyard Project begun at the Arthur Rank Centre in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. Reference is also made to the medicinal value of Co Clare plants in folklore collected during the 1930s.
