Abstract:
Short article reprinted from Beagh, a history and heritage (edited by Marie McNamara and Maura Madden) which describes the ruins of an Early Christian church in Beagh, Co Galway, that was seemingly abandoned following a Viking raid in 866. The church was repaired for use by Protestants in 1615 but was abandoned again later that century after which it came to be used as a Catholic burial ground. Relates how two feuding families later constructed a wall within the church to separate their burial plots from each other.
