Abstract:
SU 145637. The dimensions of a late 13th cent chancel and the internal arrangements of a near-contemporary N chancel chapel were ascertained. This chapel (12½ft by 15ft) was refurnished with Purbeck marble paving stones and decorated floor tiles, probably in the mid-15th cent. Both the chapel and chancel were in decay or destroyed before the total rebuilding of the church in 1785. Specialist reports are given on medieval tile, stained glass and pottery (mainly 12th-13th cent) and on a 16th/17th cent bronze harness bell. LASB
