SU 303365. The painting over the chancel arch, recently conserved, is discussed in its architectural context and redated to late 10th/early 11th century rather than 13th. Some archaeological examination allows partial reconstruction of the contemporary church to be drawn. The painting shows angels and a mandorla; the plaster appears brick-tempered as at Winchester (M Biddle and B Kj lbye-Biddle). | ||
