Abstract:
Renovation work on a clock made by John Watts of Stamford led to an investigation of possible links with other examples fashioned and signed by an unknown `I W'. A given date of 1658 for the Edith Weston clock may not be incompatible with a known working date of 1704 for Watts. Additionally notes the work of bell founder Henry Penn, also working in the area during the early-eighteenth century.
