Extensive renovation work afforded the opportunity for a detailed examination of the whole of Penley Old Hall, previously listed as a late seventeenth centry farmhouse. The house was found to contain a number of re-used timbers from an earlier hall, of which the greater part of the painted dais partition survived in situ within the east wing. | |||
