Abstract:		 Describes a high-resolution pollen record and four radiocarbon dates from a peat sequence near Tafarnaubach, at the site where two Late-Bronze-Age socketed spearheads were discovered in 1964. The results of sample analysis show that the peat record spans an interval of perhaps 2,900 years from the Late Mesolithic or Early Neolithic to the Middle to Late Bronze Age, and that peat accumulation may have ceased around the time of the emplacement of the hoard.
