Report on the survey and small-scale excavation of the Iron Age hillfort at Banc-y-Darren, Trefeurig, which investigated the western (main) entrance and parts of the middle rampart and ditch, outer ditch and counterscarp bank. The apparent cutting and deepening of the Iron Age ditches in places where the silver-lead Darren Lode has been opencasted is discussed, as is the potential date range of mining activities.
