Report on a geophysical survey carried out in 2004 of part of Llandovery Roman fort and the surrounding area to the north-west of the fort. The outline of the fort was detected, along with some of the internal buildings including a possible granary and barracks. Several phases of buildings and defences were present. There were also indications of a substantial annexe to the north-east of the fort, parts of which may be of a later date, and of a possible early invasion fort. Industrial activity, possibly a works depot, was indicated by strong levels of magnetic enhancement, and there were suggestions of a phase of roadside vicus development. | |||||||||
