Abstract:
Describes a Neolithic stone axe rough-out and another possible stone axe from Co Clare. The former was found on a guesthouse driveway where it had been deposited amongst gravel taken from a quarry in an area identified in 1899--1904 as a stone axe factory. The second artefact was found in an area identified in 1899 as a prehistoric settlement and where there are a number of court tombs. Both finds are now on display at the guest house.
