Surface finds of a perforated stone hammer, two axes, two grooved hammerstones and other worked greenstone implements collected near Balstone (Balsam) Down are described, with petrological analyses. Their relationship to Group~4 Neolithic axes and their possible significance as evidence for prehistoric mining is discussed.
