SX 146881. Excavation during roadworks beside a 4.3m high, 25m diameter mound revealed a retaining kerb of flat laid stones, some pottery and thirty-one holed or pitted stones. Possible functions for these last are discussed. A stake-built fence or shelter and one posthole were also found. Between AD 1680 and 1710 a nearby smithy was using N Devon pottery.
