Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The date and function of hillforts, cliff castles, univallate enclosures (rounds), souterrains, and courtyard houses are now better understood. Iron Age pottery needs more petrological work. The Roman period is characterized by rectangular and sub-rectangular enclosures and the change from round to oval houses. The tin trade and contacts with Brittany and N France are discussed. More impoverished than other areas of S Britain, the Cornish settlements also showed greater stability into 6th century. F B/Ed | |||||||||
