Responses indicated a lack of awareness about official procedure with only 32% of organisations saying that they always applied for the correct Home Office licence before excavation. Most had never had to undertake reburial and most of those who had were dealing with Christian remains. Many responses said that they would be interested in discussing the issues further (which resulted in an IFA conference session (see 92/1)). |
