A reply to an earlier article by David Cranstone (see 95/774). Here it is argued that the curators must use their powers to ensure that any archaeological evaluation is adequate to enable a robust yet flexible fieldwork brief to be drawn up. The idea is also refuted that archaeological projects can be divided into two types, respectively requiring different standards. |
