Discusses problems related to modern landscape developments (especially forestry) and explains current protection legislation and other provisions such as environmental assessment and regulations relating to forestry and archaeological sites. Positive management steps are also outlined. The trend is towards landscape preservation and increased consultation between all interested parties to produce an integrated approach. Lothian, Tayside, and the Western Isles are still without Regional Archaeologists however. |
