Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A lead seal discovered by metal detector at Thorpe by Glebe, eleven miles north of Leicester, has a recessed reverse bearing the stamped legend CCORIEL (Civitas Corieltauvorum). This adds more weight to the re-interpretation of the tribal area for the East Midlands as that of the Corieltauvi, rather than the Coritani. The seal is likely to have been attached to a goods consignment originating from Leicester. MH | ||
